Araghchi tells Trump to respect Khamenei if serious about Iran deal

Iran’s foreign minister urged Trump to stop disrespecting Ayatollah Khamenei if he wants a deal.

AhlulBayt News Agency: Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has urged US President Donald Trump to adopt a respectful tone toward Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei if he genuinely seeks a deal with Iran.

In a social media post on Saturday, Araghchi criticized Trump’s repeated use of disrespectful language toward Iran’s Supreme Leader, especially during the recent US-Israeli aggression against Iran.

He advised Trump to abandon his “disrespectful and unacceptable tone” and stop offending the millions who follow the Leader of the Islamic Revolution.

Araghchi likened the Iranian people’s resilience to the intricate craftsmanship of Persian carpets, emphasizing their patience, independence, and refusal to let others dictate their destiny.

He said the Iranian people, who forced Israel to seek US intervention during the missile conflict, do not tolerate threats or insults.

“If illusions lead to worse mistakes,” he warned, “Iran will not hesitate to reveal its real capabilities, which will end any delusion about its power.”

He concluded with a message of reciprocity: “Good will begets good will, and respect begets respect.”

These remarks came three days after Israel declared a unilateral ceasefire following 12 days of Iranian missile strikes.

Araghchi referenced Iran’s use of hundreds of ballistic missiles—including multi-warhead and hypersonic types—and drones that targeted Israeli nuclear, military, and industrial sites.
